Hey Dickie boy, I will let you in on secret...cheating has been going on for decades.

What a complete moron.

Gas Bag Dick likes all his cheating done up front while the kids are in high school because his buddies Pitino and Calipari were top dogs at that game.

You have to go back quite a few years to find the last time Vitale's thoughts on any topic were remotely interesting or relevant.

I don't even know what that means. If you aren't playing someone either you have convinced him of a long term plan or you have determined his worth and moved on. Why would that cause cheating?

Dickie V is a POS who is scheduled to do commentary at the morgue soon.

His brain is mush so it wasn’t very articulate, but he is saying that kids used to transfer for playing time but now “stars” (presumably starters) are transferring which must mean they are getting impermissible benefits.

Of course what he’s really saying is that these kids are money-grubbing malcontents who are totally out for themselves and that back in the good old days when only old white men made money off college basketball these little shits would have been happy just to have an opportunity to escape the ghetto and would have been so thankful to their saviors that they’d be loyal and never leave.

The truth is that even starters might not be happy with their situation or prospects and might want a change of scenery for a whole host of reasons. Old Dick Bag Vitale just doesn’t like young men being able to decide for themselves the best course for their future.

I bet Pitino will get a bunch of transfers this offseason for St. John's and Dick will praise him.

Of course he will, and he will have forgotten that a couple months earlier he lamented "transfer portal culture."

Dickie V is about as relevant as ucla men's hoops in the Big 10.

almost exactly one year ago, Smith argued against the very take about Tagovailoa that he attempted to make Tuesday morning.

When the Dolphins began the 2022 NFL season 3-0, Chris “Mad Dog” Russo revealed himself as a Miami doubter, claiming he needs to see more out of Tagovailoa. According to Russo, Tagovailoa’s arm strength was a question mark. “I can’t see him throwing deep balls,” Russo said, a hot take that Smith quickly chimed in to debunk.

“He actually specializes in that, Doggy. That’s not true,” Smith retorted. “Throwing the deep ball, even from his days at Alabama, that’s not a problem.”

So for some back story here, Carl Banks is an all-time great New York Giant who had a paid weekly call-in to a NY sports talk radio station (WFAN) where about a week ago he defended Kayvon Thibedeaux to the point that the host hung up on him. He then announced he was quitting the station where he did a ton of other work including calling Giants games.

Here’s another WFAN show host defending the guys who hung up on Banks.
In other news, Thibedeaux went out and had a monster game after Banks defended him.

Ernie & Jordan Kent were awesome on the call a few games back. Loved their interaction because they mixed in just a bit of their history/family dynamic (like Ernie talking about giving his grandkids back to Jordan when they act up) and there was genuine curiosity on Jordan’s part about how his dad saw the game. Would love to have them on more Arizona games.

I really like when former coaches go into the broadcast booth. They have so much insight into the game that casual viewers don't see.

Jordan has a great speaking voice. He could do voice overs for commercials and cartoons.

NBC removes Al Michaels from NFL playoff coverage, per report

https://sports.yahoo.com/nbc-removes-al ... 45525.html

NBC is reportedly parting ways with legendary broadcaster Al Michaels ahead of the NFL playoffs.

The 79-year-old was unaware that his role was in jeopardy last month, Andrew Marchand of the New York Post reported Tuesday.

Michaels reportedly said he believed that he was still going to call a postseason contest on NBC, but did not know who else would be working.

Jeff Goodman continues his run as one of our worst alums.

Backstory here is that this guy made an amateur documentary on Ed Cooley leaving Providence. Apparently Goodman and Dauster think or were told he tricked a coach into being in it.
Here’s Jeff’s “apology”:
Goodman is currently being dragged by the internet for acting like a mobbed up protector of the coaches who feed him info instead of being an impartial journalist. To which I say, good. He’s a douche.

It was actually the national championship he failed to mention. Fucker is either the same year as me or one year ahead.

I guess all your other media types still find it a great atmosphere. That and Arizona's 43-2 record at home the last 3 years (tied with Kansas as the best in the nation) shows someone shows up. Maybe you were just drunk when you were there.

He could be correct if you look at it from the angle that other schools have improved their performance not that UA has dropped off.

However I see no evidence of that what with UA's home win/loss record as a gauge.

So screw him.

I think the best thing last night was that when it became a blowout they both loosened up and tried to entertain the listening audience while at the same time still keeping up with what was happening on the court.

I think my biggest grievance with Bill is his tendency to launch into long stories that have nothing to do with the game or the teams (or even basketball) when the game is tight and the action deserves its own space. It’s like watching with my father-in-law when I usually want to say “hey old man, can you give it a rest? I’m trying to watch the game.”

As a big fan of Big Bill, I have to agree...

... OTOH, Bill is a reliable indicator of just how boring much of basketball can be, especially blowouts. And, one has to admit that the second half last night was boring AF.

I loved the second half too. I laughed out loud multiple times, AND Pasch & RJ also were genuinely having a good time with each other. Unfortunately I feel like had Bill been there the second half would have been a ton of their fake animosity and I am certainly not tuning in for that.

“It’s Dave, right?”. Just stop it Walton.
