Rodeo Weekend - are they going to be enough students around?

I'm remembering a lot of students bugging out of town for that four day break.

High school students maybe. When I was at the UA like 8-12 years ago the rodeo had absolutely no bearing on anyone's schedule or plans. All classes are still going on like normal. I didn't even know there was a rodeo.
i was going to put the ua/asu records here...but i forgot what they were.

Forecast says 71/Sunny for next Saturday. I say this be the first college basketball gameday they put outside and rub it in to the rest of the country freezing their balls off.

Also I want to see plenty of TJ Leaf/Adidas signs!! Make it happen Arizona!

OMG the split screen nearly cost me a TV...60" split in two still as irritating as hell...fortunately I know to clear away things I can throw near the TV for every cat game I watch...heart attack cats have earned a throw proof watching environment...

From ArizonaAthletics:
ESPN College GameDay Covered by State Farm heads west to the campus of Arizona, on Saturday, Feb. 25, in advance of the Saturday Primetime presented by AT&T pivotal Pac-12 matchup showcasing No. 5 UCLA at No. 4 Arizona (ESPN, 6:15 p.m. MST). College GameDay airs at 9 a.m. MST with an evening edition leading into the game telecast at 6 p.m.

Admission to GameDay is free and fans may begin to line up at 5 a.m. on Saturday. Students should line up and enter via the ZonaZoo entrance, while the general public will enter through Gate A, adjacent to the McKale Ticket Office. Doors will open at 7 a.m. Concessions will not be available inside McKale, but the RoadRunner food truck will be positioned by the ZonaZoo entrance starting around 5 a.m. As in years past, once inside McKale, fans will be positioned on the lower east side behind the broadcast set, which will be stationed at center court.

College GameDay is hosted by Rece Davis, who is joined by analysts Jay Bilas, Seth Greenberg and Jay Williams. Bilas will join Dan Shulman and reporter Maria Taylor on the call of the game.

GameDay Facts:
First GameDay appearance for each school since Feb. 21, 2015 (Arizona def. UCLA in Tucson)
Sixth GameDay appearance for each school and four have come head-to-head
Arizona hosts for the third time (split previous 2, both vs. UCLA)
UCLA appears for the fourth time as GameDay visitor
Arizona is the first opponent the Bruins have visited multiple times for GameDay

No Anchovies was closed for what seemed like a year for their remodel. They completely gutted the entire building and just reopened on New Years Eve. Pizza Kitchen didnt change all that much but the bar got much bigger with a lot more seating and new booths. They redid the outside area with more TVs and tables. They also opened up the second floor and added square footage onto the back of the existing structure. Another bar upstairs, tons of lounge seating, gaming, a DJ booth, dance floor and 2 outdoor areas one of which overlooks University Ave like Illegal Petes. They have 65 TVs now and still no servers outside so that didn't change. I ran into Ka'deem Carey there a few weeks ago upstairs and damn can that guy put some drinks down!

Really pumped for tomorrow. Anyone think the atmosphere in McKale will rival the '12 Florida game?

Hopefully its nothing like last night where we stood on our makes and then sat about 10 times in the 1H because USC responded

AZ opens as a 2 point favorite.

I think this will be a lot more electric than that December game against Florida. So much riding on this one. It is big

yep. if stupid oregon had lost last night then tomorrow's game would be for the sole pac 12 title. now it is still for the title, but just guaranteeing that we'd share it with oregon at the least.

ya, i dont know about that -- i was right behind the bench at that Florida game, and have been to many many others at McKale and that was the loudest and most electric ive ever witnessed.

i came back for the Gonzaga game and sat in the same seats and it was amazing, but nothing like the Florida game.

as you know i was there too, and the loudest i had been at before that was in 1998 when Stanford came to town and Arizona waxed the then #8 Cardinal 90-58 on Senior night to get to 17-1 in conf sending off everyone significant from the 97' national title team except Jason Terry in their last game at McKale.

Well here is to hoping it is a level above, both in electricity and in our play.

In any event it is a HUGE game with far reaching implications beyond this game

if oregon lost and AZ beats UCLA tomorrow, they would be outright conf champs with the win on Senior day.

if there is a tie between AZ and Oregon, Oregon gets the tiebreaker.

as it sits now due to Cal's collapse, if AZ beats UCLA tomorrow, the CATS still have to beat ASU in Tempe for the outright crown or hope for another Oregon loss.

did i do ok explaining that? LOL

That was a different day. It may have been the New Mexico Bowl, but the comeback was nuts. And it was streaming rain. Rain turns desert dwellers a little psychotic, like it is a mild hallucinogen.

I got to my kid's birthday party at one of the mass pizza-and-character syndicates late because of the football game, then had to switch with my wife to take our Grand Cherokee to Tucson instead of my littler sporty/back wheel drive car because of the rain. It was pouring an inch a minute, and I had to switch the gifts into the other car. I was soaked head to toe in that 10 minutes or so of switching and remained so all the way to Tucson and throughout the game. Everyone was. It just made it all the more crazy. Then the football team comes out at halftime on the backs of the 14 points in a minute comeback. Then the comeback started in the hoops game...the roof was about to blow off that place.
