It is weird seeing Romar in Arizona gear. He was the coach at UW as long as I've been an Arizona fan (the last 15 years)
i was going to put the ua/asu records here...but i forgot what they were.

i'll just go with fuck asu.

its weird because he is a grown-ass, dignified man wearing a shirt with gaudy block letters intended for 15-23 year olds. Even pathetic paunchy 30 year olds shouldn't wear it. Couldn't they get him a red and blue suit and Wildcat tie standing behind Wilma and some cheerleaders?

When Roman legionaries captured a Gallic chieftain, did they parade him about and dress him in such a manner

Loved his first interview.....seems like he's going to fit in very well here and looks / sounds extremely enthusiastic about Arizona.....I almost thought he was going to end the conference with the Cat sign and 'Bear Down Arizona!' ;-)

PS. If I'm any of the other 11 P12 Programs, I'm not going to like this hire at all!

I'm 45 but pretty fit. Is it the paunchy part that disqualifies someone or the age? I feel like we need an economic style graph for further clarity.

I Love the Roman Legionary Reference, btw. Perfect.

It could be where the median falls on the Kramer Curve, which is something I made up while I typed it.

But in basketball, the world is filled with coaches of all ages who wear T-shirts with print about programs, teams, clinics, and camps. Said T-shirts may look better on Gato, but as far as I know, they look fine on any man in McKale or any arena or gym.

Ugh, I have 2 comments
1. They don't have matching helmets
2. This is why most mens cycling shorts are black

If I am reading the shorts right they are from Poland. Also red/white are Poland's flag colors.

Sean Miller is not going to cock block Lorenzo Romar's career aspirations. This is all about being mutually beneficial to each other. Either way I don't think Romar is expecting to get a P12 gig unless it's a much lower tier job.

Assume he is speaking to on ball screens which leads to more one on one breakdowns which I am sure the elite top 10 guards would want.

Interesting to are how much of the offense CSM gives to Romar. I can envision a team built with the best of both. Oh my

A story about a change in our offensive strategy build around and supported by only one sentence from a 2018 recruit. ADS is struggling for content in the hot, boring summer.

Seriously

Those are some of the things I won’t get into, the UA’s newest associate head coach said at the time.

While Romar was unwilling to reveal anything, it is believed he could influence the pace the Wildcats play at.

While it’s unclear how much influence Romar will have on Miller

then quote a 17 year old recruit and turn it into an article

They've been tight lipped.

Dusan said he's gotten specific coaching and feedback after each practice, after asking Romar for any tips.

Recruits have noted his impact - how great it is to have both Miller and Romar (I believe Williams noted that).

Trier has said it was a big factor in bringing him back and that just the godfather-like relationship he has with Romar will be helpful.

Miller noted something similar: that Romar just being Romar, being the person he is for the community and the players is important, as well as him thinking like a head coach and providing Miller feedback in game and throughout the season.

I know we're all thinking "hey they'll be big changes in Tucson!" but Miller is a successful coach - we've had excellent offensive efficiency under him. Maybe what Miller most needs is a calming presence in the locker room and on the bench. Another perspective and another voice (so that, for example, he's not flipping his shit on Zeus or burning his timeouts trying to explain to Ryan Anderson or Dusan or Kobi how to rotate on defense).

Maybe it's not a big change but rather that incremental extra something that Romar brings, and maybe that's just what we need.
