Lauri came back from a month off with an ankle sprain to put up 22 points and 6 rebounds in limited minutes for the Cavs.
Of the 12 coaches, Rush picked the one whose fans have the deepest passion, the longest memories, the greatest lung capacity and … did I mention deep passion?

Grant Jerrett had been playing this season with Avtodor of the VTB United League in Russia. He left that team after his host country invaded Ukraine.

Grant has had fairly interesting pit stops all around the world since leaving Arizona.

It is in the books. Gabe York is an NBA player. Got to play his first NBA game alongside his old point guard pal T.J. McConnell.

He got in 15 minutes and scored 7 points. Congrats to him. Hopefully he gets a chance next season.

Being one of his harshest critics while a Cat*, I am extremely glad for him.

*-Although more on coaching, in what world would you call for Gabe York to be a PG with the game on the line.

I'm super happy for Gabe. A true Wildcat, he stuck it out for 4 years, even when things weren't going his way and some people were telling him to transfer. To me, that says worlds about his character and his commitment.

Eleven former Wildcats played in the NBA during the 2021-22 regular season - here are their final PER's:
21.6 Deandre Ayton
15.1 T.J. McConnell
15.1 Aaron Gordon
14.5 Lauri Markkanen
13.3 Zeke Nnaji
12.8 Gabe York
11.9 Andre Iguodala
11.8 Josh Green
10.7 Brandon Williams
10.5 Stanley Johnson
3.3 Solomon Hill

Any surprises?

I don't get people who hate on York. He had a lot of memorable moments and was a major contributor on the two best Arizona teams in almost 20 years.

I watching the Nets/Pacers game when he came in. I had no idea he made a roster and it was cool as hell seeing him out there.

I could have sworn the post said “wearing different uniforms” when I responded but maybe I’m intoxicated and seeing things.

Whoa, that's a lot. Sucks having people you trust take advantage of you.
Arizona State might have the most surprisingly anemic history in men's basketball of any program that you might think is better than it is.

Apologies if this has been posted elsewhere

Rich and Shameless on TNT (and HBOMax) ran an episode on Brian Williams/Bison Dele. They chronicled his early career, surprise retirement and then mysterious death (fingers pointed at this brother).
