According to a recent interview he gave, sometime during his senior year.

https://www.on3.com/teams/auburn-tigers ... -evans-jr/

Evans already has visited Arizona, Kentucky and Oregon. He next will visit Indiana.

“I’m visiting Indiana, for sure, but I haven’t set a date,” Evans said.

He plans to announce a commitment “sometime during my senior year.”

The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM) currently favors Arizona at 88.2%

That's the composite rankings, 247 has him at 25th. Honestly though that ranking is that high due to his ceiling, which is insanely high, and his brother's development gives further credence to that. He's not likely to be amazing his freshman year anywhere he goes though, he's gotta put on some good weight amongst other things. Year 2 and especially year 3 is when you will get the profits from him.

The style of play and having 3 guys drafted (2 in the first round) will only help the future of Arizona basketball. A big shout out to Sean for picking and securing these three guys and for TL for coaching them up.

Good thing our class looks phenomenal without him - seems Lloyd knew to cut bait early.

Yup - I get the attraction (and now ability) to get paid early, but if school/college-life isn't a draw, why bring in someone whom would be disinterested from the onset?

His circle gave off the vibe he intended to go the college route. That obviously changed.

Wonder how/if this will have any impact on Kwame Evans recruitment. He was thought to be a lean to Oregon for a while. Will this improve or hurt Oregon’s chances?

Evans is a pretty significant Arizona lean at this point

OTOH, this seems like the wheels are falling off of Altman recruiting lately

Having Larry Krystkowiak come to our games as a fan will be weird.

Sometimes coaches spend too much time at one school and things start going sour after a long period of time. There are always exceptions to that rule, especially if your school is a basketball first school, but more often than not if your school is not a basketball school things go awry after a certain period of time. It happens more often than not from what I've seen.

I wouldn't bet on that. My guess is that he will end up in the G-league.

https://www.zagsblog.com/2022/07/07/duk ... okie-cook/

Coaches from Arizona, Kansas and Oregon also watched Cook, who decommitted from Oregon June 30. Kentucky is also reportedly interested and was a finalist for Cook before he chose the Ducks.

Where would Cook slot into our rotation, though?

He's listed as a wing. Would he back up Larsson? Ramey? He's 6'7 and probably more athletic than anyone currently on the roster.

He's not in the '22 class. He's in the same class Boswell used to be in, and currently Lewis and Evans are in.

Only Larsson would/could be on the team next year. I'd guess Larsson would play the 2 while Cook plays the 3 and Evans plays the 4. Of course that's highly unlikely as he's going G league.

Assuming Kerr and Larsson return, it would be Kerr / Boswell / Larsson at the 1-3 in 2023-24.

I'm a believer that Larsson can go in the draft after this season - he's got an NBA wing body, good athleticism, and if he shows more volume with his blend of outside shooting and pick and roll finishing... he should get first round buzz.

The wild part is we would have Veesaar, Zu, and KJ Evans who could play the four that season (assuming those first two don't bolt)... and any one of those guys could be the best PF in the conference. Would be nice if one of Zu or Veesaar would go nuclear this season and clear some room for Evans who I think is an incredible prospect.

My bad. If he's a '23 player, we can absolutely slot him in. I don't expect Larsson to be at AZ beyond next season.

I would expect 2023-24 to look something like this:

Kriisa/Boswell
Boswell/Bal
Bal/Veesaar/Borovicanin
Tubelis/Evans
Ballo/Anderson

Who am I leaving out? Where does Cook fit in? Guess it's also conceivable Ballo and/or Tubelis could leave.

I don't know that Kerr and Boswell games compliment each other in the backcourt. Boswell is small and not explosive athletically while Kerr is not very athletic and isn't very good defensively while not being very big and unable to attack the rim.

Kind of hoping both Kerr and Tubelis think they outgrew the college game and ready to turn pro after this year.
