Kriisa only has a game like this about 4 times per season.

So neither of them is John Wall. But I still prefer Boswell’s defense and overall vibe. Neither player is very reliable offensively.

Kriisa is a senior. I don’t know if you all know, but Boswell is a young sophomore.

Ok, but this is still his 4th season, so I think that makes him a senior.
My point was that he is a bit more experienced and should have better stats than a sophomore.

OTOH, Kriisa is surrounded by less talented athletes, while Boswell is surrounded with great athletes and players.

Kerr served Arizona very, very well, and I really appreciated his contributions. Except for lack of driving strengths, he was a great point guard who meshed well with the talent on the team.

And, I wish him the best!

I believe Boswell will weather this mid-season slump, and hopefully, he'll emerge an even better player. He's mostly fsllen short of fan expectations, and given his youth. should develop well.

There’s no mystery to what you’re getting in Kriisa: a flashy, over-confident, streaky, at times erratic combo guard. His year at UVA was pretty negligible and didn’t improve his pro prospects. At this point, he’s fishing for NIL money and a high profile program.

There’s no way he’ll start for UK, right?

Glad he is not returning to Arizona, although I do feel kind of sorry for him regarding the amount of abuse he is going to take. Maybe Machina can go on their boards and tell the story how UA fan boards hurt Kriisa's feelings and Kerr mentioned it in his podcast, while laughing.

Kriisa does take big shots but he almost always misses them and accordingly is much more likely to kill you at the end of games than the opposite. He also does a lot of stupid shit. Relevant here, when he popped off to Luka leading to a huge run, loss of a pretty big lead, and another game in to the L column. No clue what Pope thinks he is doing here. “Maybe a bit of a defensive liability” is a massive understatement and he is a front running me first PG. Pope has made the same mistake Lloyd did in allowing the wearing of 77. Maybe he can pull a Barcello 2 but I’d be shocked.

Why is allowing a player to wear any number a mistake? That is just a bizarre take. Didn't Kerr wear 25 at Arizona? Guess I'm missing your point. Kerr is a guy that came to Arizona when do one else would in the middle of the SM deal. He certainly has some significant deficiencies especially on the defensive end. Not sure why people need to run down former players and criticize a Kentucky coach that had his whole team transfer and is simply in the "get a decent player" mode.

Cause, ultimately, Krissa sucks, and is a giant liability on the +/- balance sheet for any team.

I didn’t provide enough information for the point to be clear.

For Kriisa and Lloyd the mistake was allowing the name “Kerr” on the back of his jersey to go with the number 25. Kriisa needed a heavy dose of coaching the me-first out of him and Lloyd either decided to abdicate that responsibility or couldn’t accomplish it.

In that sense allowing the wearing of 77 is the same thing. Pope seems inclined to allow Kriisa to continue to act and play like a clown. Given what he did with Barcello, in comparison to Miller, I guess maybe I should give him the benefit of the doubt.

But if Pope wins a bunch of games with Kriisa at PG, outside of a sea change in his attitude, I will be shocked.

Feel free to bump in 10 months if I end up being wrong.

To be fair there was nothing wrong attitude-wise with Barcello. Barcello was just a poor fit for Sean Miller in regards to style of play. Barcello with Tommy Lloyd would've went just as well as it did with Pope I'm sure. Pope has a different kind of situation with Kriisa that he did with Barcello that's for sure.

To be fair he was a Sean Miller recruit and it was Sean that allowed him to wear his first name on his jersey since he was named after an Arizona Legend. I guess you see that as a sign of weakness? A more practical take would be that Tommy just doesn't care but that is far less sinister than your "abdicate that responsibility or couldn’t accomplish it". Interesting. You have an usual take on both players and staff.

Kerr Kriisa didn't even know Steve Kerr went to Arizona.

Once you start making exceptions, when do they stop?

Reminds of when Ricky Anderson (not then a starter) showed up to get on the plane for an away game with bleached blonde hair. Lute would not let him go.

Even though he let Jason Gardner dye his hair red.

Maybe you stop making exceptions when it matters or if it violates some sponsor agreement. Do you really care if a player puts his first name on a jersey if it is an Arizona legend he was named after? How about changing the name on the back of a jersey worn the previous season to a hyphenated one? How about changing a number? I just don't think it matters if that is what a player wants. The NC AA just changed what numbers you can have on a jersey does that matter since you sold jerseys with a different number? Lighten up and allow kids to express themselves a little. You also are not violating any NCAA rules.
