Houston only has one true big and he's not physical. Should we get Illinois in the Sweet 16 and we
get one of the officiating crews that are allowing full contact wrestling Cockburn could eat Koloko alive.
I nominate this for worst post of the year. Wanting to play a great defensive team over an Illinois team we would have destroyed is laughable.

Agreed, this B1G as a whole this season way underperformed I would have desperately wanted to play any of them over Houston

Is that why they fouled out Holmgren last night? So Duke could make the final 4.

Can't believe I am saying this but.... Go Purdue!!
Arizona State might have the most surprisingly anemic history in men's basketball of any program that you might think is better than it is.

Going into Selection Sunday I had a short list of 7 teams that could legitimately win the National Championship:

Gonzaga
Arizona
Kentucky
Kansas
Baylor
Auburn
Duke

So... between 1-2 of these teams will have reached the Elite 8..... crazy

Seriously. With all their other failings and ups and downs (their downs have been lower than ours the last 20+ years) they still have 4 final 4s since we've last had one. Arizona just is permanently cursed and this point.

I couldn't agree more. Arizona is just snakebit and last night was just another annoying yet predictable example. Good regular season team but can never get the job done in the big dance. With Cronin, UCLA is a tougher team and that is what you need to make deep runs in the NCAA tournament. The ability to adjust playing style to give you the best chances against your opponent is paramount. Once again, Arizona showed its inability to do that last night. No one will remember conference championships when it's all said and done. Everyone remembers national champions. Personally I hope UCLA does make it to the FInal Four again. The conference needs the recognition and respect and Arizona just simply hasn't been able to get it done. 21 years; ZERO final fours pretty much speaks for itself and that isn't changing any time soon. We're in the category of Iowa and Texas; usually good but never good enough. It is what it is.

I refuse to converse with my brother in March. He's the kind of asshole that only follows college basketball during the tourney. He's an insufferable jinx and the worst kind of fan. The universe doesn't even know of his existence. At least the universe revels in my pain.
