So some of these guys, Walker & Parks, what's the reason they're signing a year after?

I'm with you here. After what the program has gone through it has come together quite nicely. Granted it's not Bama or TOSU good, but we have material to work with here.

Signing Day always a fun day. Congrats to all the recruits who signed. Full Scholarship, part or walkon. Everywhere.

Hansen brings in some balance... AZ likely to finish probably 9th in P12
Likely lowest ranked AZ class since 2011. 2nd lowest ranked class since 2004.

Have to love Tate, Elitise, JJ Taylor, Colacion, Chacho and a few others. If a class can get 6 multiple year starters from it I think that is pretty darn good and I think the above 5 contribute very well along with greyshirt Walker

I'm with you on that. I don't see it as you need to bring in 25 great players ever class; it's kinda more like you want to bring in five or six play makers every year and if you can do that over time those are your 22 starters on both sides of the ball and you'll be in good shape.

I don't mind a little realism to temper our attitudes but Hansen always brings in the half empty broken glass routine. He forgot to mention those ranking were made earlier when we had 18 commits and three teams ahead of us had 23 or more. I looked at the recruits some of those schools signed and I'm not seeing where they have it over us. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say we wind up about 7th.

I think avg star rating of a class is a more telling metric.

Just an apples to apples comparison. Always years where a school in rankings has more/less recruits than others in the rankings. Not new, just they way they rank on points. Why I've written before I tend to look at the avg. star class ranking. Also always years, where more/less grayshirt holdovers which just in turn you'd have to subtract from previous years rankings once they're grayshirted. Services just don't that. not new. just a standard comparison to all previous years.

On the positive front, we have added or confirmed some very good looking prospects in the last few days, with hopefully a couple more before this is over. Looks better today than it did just a few days ago.

Conversely, on paper this is a poor class by even UA historical standards. I agree that 6 multiple year started from any class in good - but the pool from which those might come in this class looks very shallow.

We never have a close to 100% hit rate on the good looking prospects we sign, so we'll need a higher-than-average hit rate on the lower rated guys.

So we have one spot left to fill? Two if Cooper switches? Is that top kicker who had interest in us still on the board? Who else do we still have on our board for that last spot? Himphill?
