Carroll is starting his third year as the Wildcat's offensive coordinator and offensive line coach. It is hard to know how much credit to give to Carroll for our offensive improvement since he is at best a co-offensive coordinator with Coach Fisch. But Carroll definitely gets credit for helping Jordan Morgan to become an all-conference performer and recognizing the potential and developing Moe and Savaiinaea.
Why am I optimistic about this year's O-line? We are returning quality at 4 of 5 positions with only one guard spot with a big question mark. Frankly, I was shocked we did not pick up at least one experienced lineman in the portal. Now I have to trust the coaches. Fisch and Carroll have been focused on initially building the program around the offense and they know it doesn't work without the line. If they have an answer for that second guard and have enough quality depth this will be a much better line than we have seen in years.
