You posted this in the football forum. What are you referencing? The news report alleging rape by some players?

BTW we did fire the coach and have a new AD now.

Yes, that and the basketball news. Dare I say it, feeling like we're ASU.

My sweetest friend. Everyone I know goes away in the end.

I prefer the Cash version, but NIN is good too.

Trent Reznor would tell you the same thing. He’s talked openly as that being the superior version of his own song.
Of the 12 coaches, Rush picked the one whose fans have the deepest passion, the longest memories, the greatest lung capacity and … did I mention deep passion?

What's amazing is they're two completely different songs, although they use the same exact words. Cash's version is most certainly a reflection of life, while Reznor's is a reflection of death. Just a beautiful piece of art either way.

That's one reason I can like Cash's version without it taking from the original. It takes the song's words and changes their meaning and tone. The difference in music changes things, but both versions stand on their own.

Cash's version perfectly hits the notes of a dying man reflecting on his life. Reznor's version is anchored in the moment.

People throw around a cover artist making a song their own. Cash personifies that in this song.

That’s a great way of putting it. Spot on.
