100%. Not to get ahead of ourselves, but I’m confident we will see things that we have only read about in books regarding recruiting next year! I will gladly take 4 & 5 star talent out of the Trinity League all day long!!!

This possibly top 25 class, will turn heads of the recruits signing in Feb, but Fisch has to concentrate on the portal for immediate help.
There has got to be significant improvement on the field next year to keep this rebuild rolling.

How in the world is Fisch convincing a class like this to sign after arguably the worst season in Div 1?

I agree completely… but at this point (considering we haven’t had any level of consistent success since Tomey),I would call this project new construction (or starting from scratch).

There is a limited window for a new regime to capitalize on the “up and coming” / “new direction” / “PT available” themes (coaching changes or turmoil at other P12 was an added bonus). Stoops did with his early classes but could not sustain it (and neither RR nor Sumlin EVER recruited for shit).

They show progress on the field and they can keep this momo going… and the portal will be key to accelerating that.

MAYBE we. Can have nice things, after all. 🙏🏼

The answer is actually obvious. He has convinced them that something so special is happening here that they don't want to miss being a part of it.
Not sure how, but how he did it is the reason why we should be excited.

Now Jedd can concentrate on Slovis. He is the best option that won't alienate Fifita, whom we pretty much have to make the QB of the future now lol.

He is using his NFL experience to his advantage… that he knows what it takes and can help kids get to the next level. It (along with Noah) was a huge factor in McMillan’s decision and he said as much directly.

All made possible by UO’s coaching change. There was a perfect storm, but Fisch & Co capitalized on the opportunity.

Make the same pitch to Slovis. Offer him a one year prep for the draft. I think that's what he's looking for.

I don't know if Jedd will be looking at bringing in a qb from the transfer portal this year. Mike Luke had Fifita on his show the other day and Fifita said Jeff promised him he was going to be the only qb in this recruiting class.

I think players coming through the transfer portal are a different category than the actual recruiting class. That may be the semantic technicality. I know Fisch has been talking to Slovis and he's said if he brings in a qb through the portal it has to be someone that can help immediately. I have mixed feelings about it all and actually don't mind if they don't ge Slovis

If we can get Slovis, we absolutely should. McCloud's injury was ugly, just don't think we should count on him. I like Plummer, but business is business. Fifita shouldn't be expecting to start as a Freshman anyway

That would be sprinkles on the icing on the cake. I can't but think the signing of a class like this puts us in a position to lure the best of whatever linemen are in the portal.

I still worry about QB. McCloud and Cruz won't even be ready for spring ball.

Cal just signed a transfer QB so they're out of the running for Slovis.

I don't normally like a one year answer, but if I was Fisch, I think I would pursue him. I love how the future is looking, but to keep this project on track, we just can't have another season like this one.

Slovis has the 2 years but he wants to have a good year and declare for the draft if possible. He is leaning to Pitt because his girlfriend goes there

Fisch needs to sell him that a year in his pro-style offense is just what he needs to go high in the draft.
Alas, we probably can't compete with a formerly hairy triangle.
