I was a little premature. He waited until after Sumlin’s firing to decommit.

1290 had a coach from Lincoln HS in San Diego on today. Jason Carter, played in NFL.
Guy said he had only seen one u of a assistant in the last couple seasons Think it was LB coach, who was from San Diego area.
Said Oregon floods the area and Herm and staff are there a lot.

So telling.

Apparently we are working on a Connecticut pipeline. The top two from the state went to Michigan last year so maybe Don Brown can pull some guys from a small talent pool out to Tucson.

Cheshire has a reputation of producing some pretty good talent. Do I need to play point on CT High Schools for now on? Lol

Yeah, I've wondered about this alot. Seems like Arizona should be going after every good prospect in the San Diego area and it seems we rarely do. We're right down the road and quite a few SD kids go to school here.

I don't remember ever getting a kid straight from Hamilton. We used to live in Chandler in the area zoned for Hamilton and since T-Sizzle I remember them all going to ASU or elsewhere. I think Wrenn and Belles hated UofA.

We've had a couple Hamilton kids transfer to UofA after starting somewhere else (Tevin Hood, Malcom Holland).

There was one kid, forgot his name, that was going to run track and play football but I don't think he ever ended up playing football.

Ryan Milus- ended up enrolling at ASU and running track. They tried to sneak him onto the football roster if I recall correctly. Gerell Robinson went to about half the high schools in the East Valley at one point or another and was committed to Arizona for at least a calendar year as well.

Its the weirdest thing. I get wanting kids to stay local but given that in state colleges offer local kids more than out of state schools, your hurting your own student-athletes by behaving as childish as some of these HS coaches do.

Good pickup and a good start to this class. We already have two guys in the top 1000 after being shut out of those top 1000 last year. Still need a lot more quality pickups to bridge the talent gap.

Nice to see the Cats offering a player that is also looking at Notre Dame and not Weber State, https://247sports.com/player/steve-angeli-46086180/

They always have offered guys like that. The problem has always been landing guys also looking at Notre Dame and not Weber State.

Chester Burnett’s kid, a really good TE, Gronk style, is announcing tomorrow. A buddy of mine, an USC fan says they want him bad but they fear the alum factor

Question about the interest lists on the recruiting websites. When it lists a school but no offer does that mean that the school has talked to him but not offered? Or is it the kids wish list?

Some kid from Snottsdale Saguaro just committed. It’s on Matty M’s Twitter.

When was the last time we landed a kid from Saguaro? I know he’s not signed, but still good to see a early commitment from this school. Very nice!

When my son was playing FB at Foothills, we had RR’s kid and could never get past Saguaro. They’re a machine. His sophomore year, they had 17 or 18 kids with D1 offers. They beat us twice that year.

Umm, not to be a downer but that current ranking is more due to the number of commits over the actual rating of each commit. If you look here: https://247sports.com/Season/2022-Footb ... nce=Pac-12 you will see that our average rating is #11 in the Pac (above only OSU who doesn't have a commit yet). Obviously it is still early and recruit ratings are not perfect, but lets not overstate our current class.

Fifita isn't the only Servite product the Wildcats are hopeful of signing for '22: Arizona has also offered four-star tight end — and USC commit — Keyan Burnett and five-star wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan, a 6-3, 185-pound star who is also considering LSU, Notre Dame, Stanford, USC and Oregon, among others.

Well, this certainly doesn’t suck. Let’s try and keep all these boys together in the desert! I highly recommend taking a look at Noah Fifita’s commitment announcement on the gram. Wow!

12 more vistors this weekend including 9 in the top 1000. For frame of reference, we only got one top 1000 recruit last year and he was #917.

We also had the #9 recruit in the 2023 class visit on an unofficial from Iowa. These coaches are putting in the grind that our last few coaches had no interest in. Hopefully it continues to pay dividends because our talent level is rock bottom in P5 schools right now.
