Where a well trained army with overwhelming firepower can be stymied by an opponent who can’t/refuses to fight a traditional battle because they don’t have the resources and would be wiped out if they tried. This is why there are so many crazy games at the beginning of the tournament, but as it wears on and most of the powers and superpowers advance it returns to symmetrical warfare. I guarantee you we had a better chance to beat Kentucky than Buffalo has. Unfortunately, we got bogged down in Vietnam and lost heart. Let’s just hope we don’t have an Apocalypse Now situation on our hands.
Too many people fall in love with nontraditional lineups because of upsets. If smaller schools with nontraditional lineups were the way to success, the Final Four would be packed with UMBC's.
People just remember the upsets and the nontraditional teams more and forget that last year's title game had two very traditional lineups. Almost every champion has a relatively traditional lineup.
Much better match up for Kentucky Than It Was for us. Miller's stubbornness put us in a bad spot against the bulls

It feels to me like the Zags now sorta represent the Pac-12 in the Tourney. Sad, but there it is.

I don't see UA being at an elite level for a few years. It does appear the Zags are moving into the premier elite program of the west. Thanks to Mark Few the Zags have played at a high level for decades. He is the best coach in the west.

If Miller leaves I want us to kidnap Few.

No way Few leaves Gonzaga he's been offered plenty of $ and he's a guy who has his priorities intact,he doesn't care about the $...he loves to fly fish, loves his family, is a good catholic and is the only game in town there...if Miller could learn from any coach out there I wish it was Mark few...lighten up, get mature guys and pick up a decent hobby...then relax...let the game come to you.
Few would be cray to leave. He's got a nice little niche carved out. The WCC is garbage, so he doesn't have have to get into recruiting battles with programs like Oregon, UCLA & Arizona. He can develop players through the course of the season because their conference is weak. Even subpar games agains subpar opponents can be valuable because young talent can develop over the course of the season. In a competitive conference, you don't have that flexibility because almost every night in the Pac 12 can be a potential loss because of the parity.
Few schedules well in the non-conference: nothing crazy like elite programs for opponents, but still a few top 25 games that help the SOS. Save for last year, Gonzaga is usually overseeded. But they don't play down to their competition either.

Arizona State might have the most surprisingly anemic history in men's basketball of any program that you might think is better than it is.

So the AAC is out too. The committee should have put SMU in as an 11, maybe they'd have some representation still.

Two 3s and one 4. There was only one other tournament and I can't remember which one, that I remember just shaking my head at. Might have been the FGCU year. I will remember this one though, I think a lot of people will be comparing future tournaments to this one. "This first weekend is crazy but, remember 2018? It's nothing compared to that."

More evidence (that we don’t need) that the tourney is an absolute crapshoot. They shouldn’t even be on the floor today except for an epic meltdown and a prayer shot.

yet they would probably easily beat any team in the country the way they are playing today
