Robbins plan is to swap Miller for Lloyd! Miller and Few are buds! Makes perfect sense in Robbins' warped mind. Maybe it's a training program for Miller who will then return in a few years when he's learned as much about basketball as Robbins does. FML

When Lloyd was mentioned as a possible replacement, my first response was "who the f*** is Lloyd?" Never heard of him before.

Re: Sean Miller
It’s not like he could fire Miller tomorrow and announce this guy the next day. They have to post the job and have it up for two weeks. If they were going to do this doesn’t it make more sense they would have fired him a couple of weeks ago?

I think head coach is exempt from this policy.
Re: Sean Miller
It's bad enough ESPN ruined Miller's name in the eyes of the public, but the way Robbins is treating Miller is just as disrespectful.
Miller's coaching ability doesn't even matter that much to me at this point. I just wish the man was treated with the respect and decency he deserves.

It’s weird after supporting Miller for years, why treat him like this now?
Just weird.

Re: Sean Miller
The story looks so obvious here. Homer Drew lives in Arizona. Bryce Drew coaches in Arizona. Larry Drew played against the Suns here in Arizona.
Scott Drew will be announced 3 days after Baylor's championship parade. He has done all he can do at a small Christian school in BF Texas. He's ready to take his talents to the Conference of Champions. Book it!

Okay, Miller’s done. Choo has weighed in.
Oh well. Still think it’s asinine to fire him, and that we’re going to regret it down the road.

Re: Sean Miller
Its all about the current roster to me. The first time, in a long time, we will have almost an entire roster back (Akinjo will come back). Last night we were given very good odds by Vegas to win the 2022 Title and are ranked in the Top 11 of most early top 25s. Why blow that up now? The current roster is bolting if/when Lloyd is made the HC.goslingswagg wrote: ↑Tue Apr 06, 2021 8:18 amAlthough I don't love the way this entire fire/extension situation has gone down, I wouldn't mind that outcome...

First, name one advantage for recruiting...
Second, Arizona is NOT Gonzaga and as much as I love Mark Few and what he's done lets not forget how long it took HIM to do it, and then also notice that against serious conferences his teams don't look invincible...Floyd would be about 2 steps BELOW that.
Almost none of us knew who he was, if anyone here thinks thats a good hire for a school like UofA you've allowed the media to reframe who you think we are...
Miller is an exceptional coach...Robbins is an exceptional idiot.
Besides it has been LESS THAN A MONTH AGO that Robbins said "Coach Miller is our coach. We’re working with him about remaining our coach..."
That was on March 8th, someone tell me what changed in the last 30 days.
I think we are all over-reacting to silence.

Firing Miller would make me stop following Arizona basketball altogether. So I guess I'll never get to know whoever this guy is.

Re: Sean Miller
I agree with Chicat. The anti-miller crowd are very dumb. Miller can build a competitive team year and year out, which is tough today. I mean look at this past year. He pulled this recruiting class out of his ass last minute and this class was stellar. Tubelis, Kerr, Mathurin, and the list goes on. Gotta keep Miller. You don't fire coaches with his pedegree and his success
I said what I said and I mean it.
Re: Sean Miller
The floor with Miller is an nit level team and the norm is a competitive top 25 team that at least threatens conference championships and sweet 16s. You don't fire that for whatever random unknown you may hire which could end up ruining the program forever

Robbins will get a new contract because he led UA through the pandemic without falling flat on his face. Don’t get your hopes up there. If he leaves, it’s of his own accord for a better job.
