With the guards/wings coming in that we expect, and the ones we expect to keep and contribute..what are our thought on Nowell? Is he capable of making a jump? Is he content with spot minutes for 1-2 more years? Or his a possibly transferring?
After a year of practices and a little game time (he got minutes in a little over half the games), he and the coaches probably understand his timeline and ceiling pretty well. Of course the coaches might see things differently than he does, which can lead to a transfer. Or they all might think he’d have a better shot at seeing the floor at another program.
It’s hard for us as fans to know what the future holds, especially since he only played about 60 minutes total of garbage time. But if he was tearing it up in practice, I would think Tommy would have given him the same last game treatment that Adama got.
Towards the end of the game I thought the announcers said that he missed the last three games for personal reasons. Any idea what the personal reasons might have been?
Personal reasons?? That doesn't sound good.
Hopefully, he hasn't been hanging around with Aiken
So now rape/sexual assault are humorous?
Someone please get this piece of shit off our board already.
What???
When was Aiken accused of sexual assault???
I must have missed it. Please provide the link to the news story.

Scheer added a Crystal Ball pick for KJ Lewis to Arizona. Looking forward to this announcement tonight.
Does anyone know why Lewis dropped in the rankings? He was ranked in the 20’s most of last year, but has fallen into the 60’s. Did he have a bad season or get hurt?

ESPN is crap with their rankings and don't really scout at all. That is why he's in the 60s, the composite rankings of all the service compiled together, the ESPN drags the ranking down a lot.
247 has KJ Lewis as #23 overall
Rivals has KJ Lewis has #22 overall
ESPN gives him 4* but is unranked
On3 has KJ Lewis ranked #27 overall (not in 247 composite but they have their own composite rankings)
https://www.on3.com/db/kj-lewis-75445/i ... omparison/
Honestly with basketball, 247 rankings (non composite) is pretty much the only rankings people should be looking at.

"I like Coach Lloyd and everything he stands for as a person," Lewis said on his decision. "The whole coaching staff made me feel like I was a part of their family. Every time I talked to them, it was genuine."
"The playing style there is what did it for me," Lewis said. "The guys playing for Coach Lloyd have a brotherhood and they are having fun. That is the biggest thing for me. I just want to have fun and hoop. Coach Lloyd being a player's coach will allow me to do that and the atmosphere in Tuscon is just crazy."
"Kylan and I talked for a while after the game," Lewis said. "We became very close and he definitely helped my decision to commit there. That is my guy. We are also trying to get Dusty Stromer to come."

Plus that I'm dearly hoping we don't drop a scholarship on a guy who scored 1.5 ppg at GCU. No issue with him being here, but we may well lose a scholarship, so stuff is at a premium.
We need to save that scholarship for Azuolas Tubelis's brother if Azuolas wants to return.

I’m not sure. I know Michalczik’s kid went to NAU. I never asked his parents if he got the QTR.
Although Jim went to OrSt about halfway through Max’s schooling.

Kai Jones went 19 last year. I think Koloko's a better prospect. Certainly has a higher floor at least and it's not like Koloko's ceiling is limited.

So we're really not recruiting any wings or forwards in this class at all. It's all guards so far (which could tell us about what they'll think they'll have on roster) which is interesting.
Boswell - committed
Lewis - committed
Stromer = seems like it's all Zags
Tyrese Proctor = a Arizona/Duke battle, Duke has Caleb Foster and Jared McCain committed already which could help us out.
We could have a Sr Ballo, Sr Tubelis and So Anderson on roster when the 2023 class plays. There's also the hypothetical must not be named Euro big in the '22 class which could take care of big men depth. Hypothetically also our wings could be a Sr Larsson and a Jr Bal/Nowell.

For all intents and purposes Lewis is a wing. I get that he’s only 6’4, which is why you label him a guard. I’m sure if Arizona wants a bigger wing it’ll find one in the summer. Probably depends all on Proctor though.

Yeah meant more like a forward wings that are 6'7+ and/or a 3/4 hybrid.
I just worry about us falling into the '17 and '18 trap again where we had no real size on the wings 6'5 (which was Trier, Rawle was shorter than him) and above that hurt us offensively and defensively playing with two bigs.

Tommy has a lot of options. I expect we'll have another stacked roster in 2022-23, even with the anticipated departures.
Within a few years, Tommy could very easily be the Pac's best recruiter, just like his predecessor.

Don’t be surprised if he picks Duke but keeps the G-League option in his back pocket.
