Being shouted down on the football board really affected how I feel about the posters here. Just wasn't the same old TOS.

Still can't get over the support for a rapist, but nothing I can do about it and not worth talking about it anymore.

I’m here. I don’t have a ton of time as I used to.

I got a raise and promotion in September and am world building with my job.

Fitness eats about about 3 hours a day now in various capacities. I take long weekend hiking trips to places too remote for signal.

Ive hiked huge chunks of Northern Arizona and Southern California, including Grand Canyon, Kendrick Mountain Wilderness, Mingus Mountain, and Pacific Crest Trail.

Last 2 years I have hiked about 300 dedicated miles with another 2000 in fitness walking/light hikes.

I quit pretty much all social media except I have some Bluesky accounts.

Almost dying in 2023 changes a man.

But I’m doing well and hope to post more as we enter March.

I'm back just in time to watch the cats in March (I've never stopped) and throw back popcorn as the US implodes. I fled the country (willingly) in December 2023 to Queensland Australia, and I'm notcoming back for at least four more years LOL

Kidding, but I did move for work (well, not work, as it's work I can do anywhere in the world). But I wanted a change. so I moved 18 hours into the future from y'all!

More Sydney-sider fake newsery.

Sydney claims to be the biggest city in Australia and that its always raining in Melbourne.

Neither is true. Sydney get TWICE the rainfall that Melbourne does, and Melbourne is bigger population than Sydney (I admit, they are very, very close at the moment and it depends on exactly which suburbs you include, but in general Melbourne is growing faster than Sydney).

The ONLY thing Sydney has going for it is the harbor. No question it is more beautiful than the Melbourne's bay. But boy oh boy does that harbor mess up transportation. No matter where you are, you can't get there from here.

Pretty much, as I have been been here. I lurk on the MBB board daily as a guest really enjoy reading posts by Winger, JMJ, Choo and TucsonClip, among others. Premium stuff! I just got annoyed by the BDW self appointed cops jumping in whenever you criticize a player and I decided to stop commenting. Better off for everyone.

Bigger picture though is that I am really getting tired of NCAA sports turning into pro-leagues with no salary caps and unlimited transfers. Just losing interest as the rich will get richer. Shedeur Sanders might have been better off if he stayed in college. Thought I read Miami offered him $5M but it could have been speculation or just a poor joke. Doubt I am the only one who finds this trend disturbing. Not that players shouldn't get paid, they should, just put them in the same type of contracts that coaches have. If you want to leave before your contract is up, go ahead, but your buyout is X dollars. And why can't the NCAA have salary caps like pretty much all pro sports?

Speculation is that NCAA is going to let players have 5 years eligibility now too, and not count JC years anymore. Still only 200 minutes in a game. So no more developing freshmen, just keep pulling players out of the portal. Freshman can hang out in JC. No more walk-ons either, just 15 players max.

May not even watch a CFB game this season since I find football pretty boring generally. 17 minutes of action in 3.5 hours or whatever. Especially with a mid-major coach who hasn't proven anything.

Also avoiding the politics board, since every time I think it can't get worse here in the US it does. Never in my lifetime would I ever think it would be this bad. Just tired of reading about it and talking about it.

So not really missing, just shutting up, at least for now.
