So Herbie, did the committee get it wrong with Oregon?

I wonder if they would have snapped it without the offsides occurring? Ballsy play call

How about the SEC moaning about not getting enough teams in and then it turns out the only member to make it to the semifinal was in the Big12 this time last year? You love to see it…

…and that one team was awfully lucky to get to the semis. One 4th down stop and the SEC would have been skunked.

Notre Dame and tOSU are the best teams playing right now.

Every conference champion lost. Maybe having a bye wasn't such a good idea after all.

It’s like conference tournaments in bball. Not really needed but no way they get rid of it because of money.

Never would have guessed that the first black coach in an NCAA championship football game would be from Notre Dame

“I want to be in an environment where I have the resources to win a national championship,” Brian Kelly said in April 2022 after leaving Notre Dame for LSU.

Notre Dame will play for a national championship in 11 days. LSU has not made the CFP since Kelly took over.

So, it comes down to Notre Dame (my favorite team growing up as a Irish Catholic schoolboy in the Midwest) vs tOSU (my most hated football team - "three yards and a cloud of fucking dust" - growing up in Ohio).

Win one for the Gipper!!!!

Wake up the echoes!!!

Same PC, Catholic schoolboy, although I grew up in Michigan so without a doubt tOSU is my most hated football school ever.

Mike Stoops was right about one thing, the UA/ASU rivalry really pales compared to other schools. Bo v. Woody!

UM/OSU was the biggest sporting event in the state of Michigan. Back then, there was only one bowl game the Big 10 could go to, The Rose Bowl.

So that game was for all the marbles. Win, or stay home. The Rose Bowl didn't even really matter, since the PAC-8 had a home field advantage every game.

Growing up in Toledo OH, UM/OSU was BIG!!! But UM passed the ball!!!

Ann Arbor is a great college town; Columbus is Philistine Nation!!

The Rose Bowl was the "granddaddy of them all"!!!

New Year's Day was the PEAK of college athletics!!!

Yep, all season and especially after the tournament teams were announced, I've been reminding college football fans, who have opined about SEC dominance, that the defending national champ was not an SEC team.

Also great to see that, for the second year in a row, the two finalists are not SEC teams.
