Maybe I have AZ blinders on- but I just don't see Kerr as the little annoying white asshole type many are comparing him to. I mean he's fiery and a pesky.... and he's certainly short and white... but I really don't quite make the leap in my head

Trust me, as a Laker fan I hate saying it. But when I first heard it I took my homer hat off and said "yeah, kind of see the resemblance."

Actually think an Ainge comparison is quite a compliment. That guy was a huge part of those Celtics teams.

Big difference between Kerr and Ainge. Ainge was a whinner and complainer. Big baby. Never committed a foul in his life. Always a “who me” look on his face when called.

Put them on the 6th floor of Arizona/Sonora in 1988. Or any campus dorm any year. We all know what it's like to get hurt horsing around during a meal.

Arizona State might have the most surprisingly anemic history in men's basketball of any program that you might think is better than it is.

I think the Ainge comparison was dead-on. (And I HATED him as a Celtic and LOVED him as a Sun).

Kerr pops off his mouth A TON for a college kid… if he makes it to NBA, he’ll be at least as much if a firebrand as Ainge was. And if he is as good a player, he’ll make a fortune.

If he played for ASU, UCLA, or Duke, I am pretty sure he would be the most hated player in CBB for most posters on this forum.

An asshole is an asshole is an asshole!!!

Kerr is NOT a Danny Ainge, Grayson Allen or Christian Laettner...

... I'd liken him more to Dramond Green, Gary Payton or Reggie Miller (who I hated, but, ultimately, and years later, respected)

Saying Reggie Miller was not an asshole automatically disqualifies this...

BTW, the original comparison was about similar type guards.

He’s a lot like Don McLean, who has said as much repeatedly.

The same Don MacLean who I HATED as a player, but LOVE as an announcer. (Guy is WAY too good for the P12 Network).

I admit that I've been surprised at McLean's objectivity as an announcer and in his reflections on the past. Maybe he's grown up a bit...

... however, I'll never forget how his behavior in the 1992 NCAA Regional final at the PIT vs Indiana - Knight's younger smoked the more talented uclans - confirmed my hatred for him. In the second half McLean disdainfully stood apart from the uclan team huddle during timeouts - if Harrick had had any balls, he'd have benched him!!! I can never remove the "asshole" label from him after that...

The guy does his homework, knows what he is taking about and rarely makes a gaffe, and is as objective and candid as almost anyone in that space. He has great respect for our program Cats and is refreshingly self-deprecating.

He puts the rest of his peers to shame (most notably Casey Jacobsen). I think RJ is great, but Muelback and Williams are turrible.

Although I am sure HomerDogg (who marvels at the exploits of our “legend” Gil Arenas) will disagree.

I really think KK is a better college PG. Not sure TyTy would have stepped in a started over him. I love our guy

Every shot was coming in short you’re definitely right, but he’s got to run the offense instead of chasing his own shot, especially if he doesn’t have the legs.

Nico never went 0-12.

That's a performance you just tell him to forget. He has talent and 0-12 is an aberration. Stay aggressive, keep shooting and let things work themselves out.

i 100% agree - more volume for a guy like Kriisa isnt the answer when hes tired and its not falling, for Mathurin? keep launching...but Kriisa seemed a bit off all the way around last night, didnt seem himself. right now im chakling it up to being the exception not the rule.

Inexperience and exhaustion are reasonable explanations but Kriisa better learn from that one very quickly.

Kriisa needs to get more comfortable with a few other shot types. He does take the occasional floater, but he doesn't hit many of them. Clearly he wants to take long shots, and when he's on, it's great. But when he's not...woah boy.

He's quick enough to get into the key, but we rarely see him actually take it to the basket. He's not a dunker, but he's definitely athletic enough to draw fouls. Feel like this is a glaring shortcoming in his game at the moment. He's too one-dimensional on offense.

I am sure he was pressing some when TC comes out and scores 10 early points and then we started missing. He is our PG, our de facto leader so I am sure he figured the next one would drop. Unfortunately it didn’t.

Clunker of a game and we get another chance Saturday and then a huge week at home
