Defending Booker

Post by Longhorned »

It couldn't be done tonight. Denying a backcourt player the ball is almost impossible. Once he had the ball, neither Pitts, nor RHJ, nor Stanley Johnson gave him any space. His twisted ankle resulted from landing on his defender's foot after yet another made 3-pointer, which speaks to how little space he had on those contested shots. When a player goes off like that, that's that. There's no "adjustment" to be made. No defenders to blame.

One result of those shots was a pushing back against Arizona's momentum. The game really wasn't close and the result was never in doubt, but Arizona played a lot better game than some might give credit for as a result of a single unstoppable player who scored nearly 60% of his team's points. And it doesn't matter that he won't do anything like that again this season except for when Arizona comes to town.

Said it in another thread, but the trash talking both on the floor and off makes the Rado team totally dislikable. Boooker, as good as he played, won't do that again against anyone, and I'd be less than shocked to see them take a dump in Tempe this weekend.

Same reason we can't stand UNLV. They talk a lot of stuff for us, and playing us, then go into their hole the rest of the year without being called out on it.

Teams take on the persona of their coach. This isnt a new thing for "Rado"

If that's true, then why don't our guys defend really hard all the time!?

It is the state of modern athletes.

How many times do we see the celebrations in football for the most pedestrian of plays? No need to celebrate a first down or sack anytime in a game but see how many people do it when their team is down big or it is at a critical point of the game.
